I was hesitant to buy this product because I had read reviews that is was too noisy. However I had also read reviews that this unit did very well in a particle removal test. Removing allergens was the primary importance to me because my wife and I have a child coming soon so I purchased it. Just before turning the unit on, I was expecting the worst thinking it would be too loud to handle. But It is definitely NOT TOO LOUD. I find that the noise this unit produces is a product of air movement which in my opinion is a good thing. After running the unit for an hour or so I walked into the room and the feeling I got was brighter, crisper, and clearer. Also, when the sun shines through the window in the morning I used to see all the dust particles in the air floating. With the unit running I hardly saw any dust in the air at all, which to me was visually reasurring. If you are worried about the noise buy it and see if its too noisy bring it back.
