You would have to use a cooling tower or some other heat exchanger and a return pump like they use in a nuclear power plant. The question is does his big magnifying glass harness enough power for the pump because it has to work against the steam pressure and have enough power left for sale. Nuclear power or coal plants that use steem have enough energy to overcome this barier. You would have to harness allot more solar power to achieve the same goal.

Dan – Ref your pipe boiler. Have you done any experiments on a method to keep a replinishment feed supply of wather to the pipe as the steam boils off? Thanks: larry H. GA

    EXCELLENT

Cannot run out of water, it can use gray vs fresh or sea water. Also re-condensed for many cycle. The natural evaporation from a large lake is 10x what a power plant would use. Also keep in mind COAL FIRE plants are STEAM turbine operations. This would replace the coal, steam the same.

  • gmspeedfreak says:

steam requires water, which requires enough condensation to get water .
so how do we know that by using a lot of water is not going to make us not run out of water or the water price to go up too high?
petroleums and oils are still have to be used to make plastic and rubber componentry

Add a pressure relief valve from a water heater, they’re less than $20.

nice job , was wondering if it would work better with aluminim or copper pipe or maybe someting black

Is this steam generate enough pressure to drive a Tesla turbine? I has seen someone used a pressure cooker to drive Tesla turbine. Just wonder sunlight + pressure cooker + Tesla turbine to generate electricity making any sense. Thanks for the demo. Very educational.

The age of steam is about to have a second dawn!

    Nice!

  • HiFiman4u says:

not only is hot water a by product but you can also get distilled water as well.

  • HiFiman4u says:

It still wont blow up,although it may take off like a rocket LOLMetal pipe like he is using can handle tremendous amounts of pressure.Only the weakest link would fail, most likely the connector not the pipe.Even if that happened there would only be a big blast of steam for a very short duration in time.

  • ridgetownpimp says:

thats true but if there is more steem than can escape than your in for a big boom!!
I didnt see any safty valve, it looks like the only escape is if the engine is running and that will have a limit to how much steem it can let off.

  • HiFiman4u says:

As long as there is a way for the steam to escape there can be no explosion.

what’s really cool about producing electricity and hot water with these is to heat and cool the home . so that we can use the gasoline and diesel to propel our vehicles

  • nuttyape says:

    oh well thats cool.
was just away with the clouds to be hounest

  • 321ozzy says:

    nuttyape,
Your idea is being used in steam engines.
I used to work a s a volunteer on a steam tug boat.
The engine has three cylinders, that use all the initial steam.
The third cylinder, with the biggest diametre is also helped with a condensor that pulled the cylinder down with vacuum power.
The pressure and the amount of steam should be sufficient for a two- or three cylinder application.

  • nuttyape says:

this is such a good idear.
is it not possible (curios) to ass another motor to the exaugst on the currant motor

i.e stick a pipe on the steam being released onto another motor thus doubling the ouput..?

  • heatherandpaul2 says:

Thay makes sence I guess. I would prefer a giant caterpillar diesel engine to power my home. And I dont mean one of them new “Green” homo diesel engine. Im talking an old 70’s engine that pukes nothing but black smoke. WHy you ask? Because its cool.

  • daspifster says:

We don’t necessarily need to build a system that powers a city, just enough to power a home. From what I hear there are systems that do that with 10 square meters of space for about 6K-8K… oh yeah, and hot water is a by product.

  • ridgetownpimp says:

I like the idea but what you got there is a pipe bomb waiting to go off

  • bentnorton says:

Nice video!. Have you ever tried using boiler sight glass tubing? Its rated for high temp and pressure. You would be heating the water directly with the sun instead of heating the pipe to heat the water. Or maybe a small tank with a high pressure/temp sight glass window in it.
