@ginostatus I use jumpers in this video watch?v=rpafn-urjrg

You can buy mc4 to pigtail, or an extender mc4 to mc4, cut and pigtail.

i have 2 85 watt multicrystalline and 2 80 watt monocrystalline….but they have the new mc4 conncetors….and they come with one male and two females on the other end…and one female and two males…..they tell me that this is how they do parallel connections…i did that …and a AA battery was putting out more volts then my four panels…..how can i do it the old fashion way…?

Well done! You explained it so well. I got my solar panels with no wiring which made it very hard for me to decide how to connect them. But based on what you said, very simple. I’ll connect them in parallel.

i cant wait for the vids you mentioned at the end, thats teh kind of stuff i need to know so i can get everything planned without flying by the seat of my pants.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is that thing in your hand? Is that a voltmeter? Just trying to be sure. I’m a total newbie when it comes to this stuff.

    Great video!
I am rusty and this video really helped out. Right now I have a Deep Cell Marine Battery and I have a 9Watt and a 1.5 Watt Solar Panel going to a charge controller. I am using a 100 Watt inverter most of the time, and as needed I an using a 400 Watt inverter.
I am only running a clock radio and charging Nintendo DS, PSP and Cell Phones as needed.

Hello, just wondering if you know a 3P – 3P solar inverter? what is the number of panels if you wanted to have 10kva 3P-3P solar inverter.?

How many solar panels and batteries would I need to produce 15 KWs per day?

  • GREENPOWERSCIENCE says:

    90 divided x 24 = 4KWh.

So he would need 10KW system for day night usage.

aedgin says he uses 90,000 watts? Frick. How many batteries and solar panels do you think he has rigged up at his place?

  • InTheSticks1881 says:

No. The voltage will remain the same.

  • aedgin says:

my average in hot months (florida) is about 90 KWh

100KW? thats alot, what are you running 10 central A/Cs?

  • microscopic789 says:

you dont lose or gain voltage when connected in parallel

  • SKEL45 says:

would i lose the voltage if i place them in parallel
