This is the dish I got from a local Craig’s List Listing. I am lining it with the Trough Liner Material.

I once saw an article in Popular Science where they covered the dish in mirrors like yours. They left the arms that hold the LNB at the focal point and replaced the LNB with a collector box wich they ran water thru to make steam. They used the motor that turns the dish to track the sun using a photovotaic cell to turn the motor on and off. When the sun would hit the cell it would turn the dish until the cell was in the shade, then turn off. A solar “switch”, if you will.

“I think, I think, I think…..” Who in the hell cares what you think!

Why don’t you bozo’s go get an engineering degree and contact the manufacturer and do some calculations – instead of sharing your idiot opinions with us all.

    Yeah your right – your so completely right;

But I still don’t understand you.

dan dont let up put a reflector at top focal point and converge the beam further a 14 inch dish at top should really super heat

Dan can you sell me some for my old dish
?? how much or if not where did you get it??

Ok, I get that you have self esteem issues and you feel that by insulting others you somehow make up for inadequacies. This being said, if you act like a troll everyone will treat you like one. If you are unable to be civil I would prefer you simply not respond to me or anyone for that matter… and since you do not know me you have no idea of my educational level. So, in summation, please cease and desist if you are unable to hold a conversation with some level of intelligence.

  • latrans67 says:

Is that the very best you can come up with? At least make your insults more intelligent than what one might hear in elementary school… or you might try the novel approach of crawling back under your rock like a bug.

Be Specific Shane, are we converting UK units, US units, or from one to the other?

  • callmeshane303 says:

Ummmmm Ok so you say “I win”….

Ummmmmm who allocated you the winner? (first question) and

Exactly what is it that you won? (second question).

It sounds to me like by having sex with yourself, you got yourself pregnant.

QED. OK – so you win.

  • BloodTar says:

Still doesn’t cover up their envy. I win, you lose.

  • callmeshane303 says:

Yes that’s true, so much so that they even have the same flag as yours, only theirs is on fire.

you should make videos in series from start to finish and number them.

My boiler is a tankless on demand 120,000 btu unit that uses 180* water to heat our radiant heat it runs at 180* out and 70-90* back in until it has run through the whole system then its 140-160* back in. My thought is at 500* start temp my loss over 12-16 hours should only drop the overall temp down to 200-250* using the heat exchanger. Im worried about the water flashing to steam but with a 2″ line in and out the water should not flash with this volume.

  • FearTurtles says:

I guess the easiest way to figure that is to determine how many BTU’s your heater uses a day. That 80 degrees is your stored btu’s So your heat usage can be deducted from that storage + the heat loss through the insulation. Which because you are not dealing with as high a temp that loss will be reduced.
